In His Glad Service, Breck & Robbie Castleman

A bit of news about the life, work, family and faith of Breck and Robbie Castleman. "In His Glad Service" is a borrowed salutation from "Ham" and Estelle Hamilton who mentored us in the faith in our young life. They gave us permission to adopt their refrain for our own lives. We pray the we would be known as two people "In His Glad Service".

Fall Break '09 Anniversary Trip to New Orleans

October 30th is our 38th anniversary--so we took JBU fall-break for a trip to see the Saints play the Giants in the Super Dome! We had such a good time--might make a Saints game an annual event! Ate Po-boys on the levy from Domilises, stayed on St. Charles Avenue across the street from the old Kolb's restaurant (we met in front of Kolb's 38 years ago on June 24th), had a blast at the game, ate at Commander's Palace, quick visit to Ocean Springs on the last day to see the kids.

In our new car! Piano lesson time! Pizza Tate!

This was great news; I'm looking forward to Barbara and I traveling back to Ft. Meade for our 38th! You two have done well and continue doing great things. You and Robbie have definitely earned the "In His Glad Service" moniker. I'd also say you have earned the one word I heard everyone apply to Deedle during his memorial service--faithful. -Nate

Our names are Adam & Amber Stutzman, we live in Silverton Oregon. Our family has been in the process of adopting a baby girl from Ethiopia for the past year and are getting very close. We are going through the agency All God's Children International out of Portland.
It has been a long, hard and expensive road requiring a lot of patience. We are officially number 18 on the waitlist to receive our child, and have over the past year, done many fundraisers in order to raise the needed $25,000 to adopt her. After all the hard work, we will finally be traveling to pick her up sometime early this summer. We are going to be ending our fundraisings with a Silent Auction and Dessert Night at our church, Emmanuel Bible in Pratum Oregon on April 22nd.
We are trying to find auction items....and we were wondering if you would consider donating one of your books, or anything at all, for the auction......If you can't we totally understand- but thank you for considering us! We really enjoy your writings!
Please feel free to visit our adoption blog page, where we try to keep everyone posted on all the events which we have been going through, and what our latest waitlist number is. The blog page can be found at………..

Are you the Robbie Castleman from Parenting in the Pew book?
I noticed your blog hasnt been updated in a while so im not sure you will get this... but I started reading your book today and just LOVE IT... I had an hour while my boys napped and got to chapter 3.. and just really related and loved your testimony on worship and struggles to worship in a particular style church.

Im a young pastors wife... just turned 27 and have 3 boys, 6, 4 and 9 mo... my husband is the senior baptist pastor at a very "old fashion" church and im having a hard time right now with the style of worship... im also attempting on keeping my boys with me in worship.. and get remarks from many older people in church esp grandmothers and moms of kids older than mine, rolled eyes and so on, because im not leaving my kids in "childrens church" or nursery...

its hard to find balance.. i dont want to offend them but i want my kids with me in worship...

any way, it was just encouraging to read your story.. i look forward to finishing your book, i hope to before sunday! :) if my kids nap well this week hehe.

BTW if you do read blogs, heres mine! www.dreawood.com

and my personal email is drea[at]dreawood.com

Thanks again for the book, and if this isnt the same robbie castleman from the book, ignore me ;-)
